For those of you that are new, or just those who don’t know. When promoting a show, we have a few guidelines. These aren’t in place just to have rules. They are important to making sure that everything goes smoothly, and the band is being promoted to the best of this amazing team’s ability.
-Only request a show if you are 100% sure you can make it. I understand that some emergencies come up, but things like “I had to work” or “my ride bailed” don’t count.
-Please request a show at least 3 weeks in advance. This allows one week to ship, one week to promote, and then you need to turn in promo a week before the show.
-TURN IN YOUR PRE SHOW ONE WEEK BEFORE THE SHOW to be on the guestlist. NO exceptions.
-If for some reason you preshow will be late, etc LET ME KNOW. We can usually work something out.
-If your date is coming up and you have yet to receive promo, please let me know enough in advance so that we can mail you more. We send out thousands of packages and some inevitably get lost in the shuffle. If you don’t tell us, we won’t know (i.e. we can’t fix the problem)!
-If the venue won’t allow posters to be hung up, pass them out. Just make sure you use them.
-Emails and phone numbers are important. Please be proactive when collecting these. When asking for phone numbers, make sure they know that it’s for the bands mobile mob. They’ll get text updates, exclusive content, and exclusive first listens to songs. People are more likely to sign up if they know why and what the benefits are
-BE REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY FRIENDLY. You can make someone’s day by being nice. Talk to them, tell them about their bands, talk about their interests. I’m sure a lot of you have encountered band members outside of venues who do this, and it really helps. You remember them. It’s a lot better than just being handed a sticker.
